While my perfectionist urges toward presicion were quickly ground away, I have to say I appreciate your frustration as described in this old post.  In my career, so far, your consultant&#039;s admonition is sometimes easier said than done.  My series of managers rarely had a clear connection to the supposed problems we were directed to solve, &#039;for less cost.&#039;   Never was there a consistent direction or clear mission beyond muddle foward and try not to spend.
I&#039;ll hope you&#039;ve found some managers, since, who are at least more attuned to aligning the tasks with a clearer mission.
