sometimes i just can’t help but admire the beauty of lens glass. i totally understand when buffs say things like, “wow that’s a nice glass.”

today i decided to get back into reading. i walked to downtown and had thai food for dinner. i brought with me shadow of the hegemon, the sixth book in the ender series. i found the seventh book, shadow puppets, and picked that up. i also picked up flophouse, this book i read about; it’s text and amazing photographs about skid row in new york city, known as the bowery. the images in this book are really inspiration for me.
so dinner was so-so, i whipped through 60 pages over chai at DANASTREET, then ran into anthony and mike. i took part in their discussion about job prospects. then a swift walk home where i resume my cameraspotting obcession.

this weekend i’m renting a 503cw kit. my notes so far:
i’m all manic today.
backups were 100% every night this week at work. i moved the last application off an old e10k platform at work. i’m downloading the latest build of solaris 10 to play with. i’m finally got a new sunfire v210 jumpstart image to work. and this morning, i woke up early thinking it was saturday since i’m so anxious to get my hands on the 503cw i’ve reserved for the weekend.
happy times.

the hoglaroid is a fun and monsterous camera. basically you take a $20 plastic camera, attach a $100 polaroid back, and shoot $1/shot polaroid film with it. what’s not to love? the border came out cool on the scan. this would be a good (but expensive) photoblog medium. now if only local stores would start carrying this (new? resurrected?) film. after i waste this color pack i have a black+white pack to play with.
